I think it was Bobby Knight who said that he could handover his playbook to the opposing team the night before, but if his players executed, they still could not be stopped.

But that assumes we have a great playbook or a playbook at all.

Likely more true for basketball, but point taken.

That was basically word for word what Taggart said when he got here.

Took him two years before he figured it out.

Guys let's be honest. We know if the coaches used Taggart's Gulf Coast offense the past two games would have been blow outs. It's pretty obvious this team will not be as good if we scrap a spread and scrap read options.

Well, sure, if Marlon Mack was still on the team.

Just watching the VT vs WVU game.  Interesting to see how VT just scored a touchdown by using a fake off a jet sweep to create space for the QB.

It brought some questions to mind.  I guess I would need to watch the game again to see what we are doing on offense, but are we even spreading the field at all with our receivers or when they run their routes is everyone bunched together.  I just seem to recall feeling that everything was bunching into the middle of field.  From our running between the tackles to everything else which really left no  chance for Flowers to get into space.

I'd suggest that to any who haven't already done it .... People remember what and how they want to sometimes.

The blocking is so terrible no telling if the playbook is any good or not.

No sandlot football I've ever been associated with utilized the power run .......... and maybe I'm missing something with all this "no playbook" nonsense but isn't it just that the players weren't given a playbook but had to make their own. There is a playbook.

On my list of things I'm concerned about with this team, the fact that Gilbert didn't photocopy plays for his offense ranks pretty low.

Hopefully the offense picks it up, but if not I really see the lack of physical playbook becoming this years, "DC Woodie not on the field" complaint.
