Let's say $25 steaks are offered BOGO at WD or half-off at Publix Got to WD, you must spend $25, and you will get two steaks Go to Publix and you can have one steak for $12.50 If all you really want is one steak, Publix saves you $12.50, since you don't have to buy what you don't want. OTOH, if you want two steaks, you're indifferent. Overall, Publix offers the greater value, since you get a free second option - and real options have real value. I think the face-palm icon was a result of me exposing the deceit in the discount the Gators were offering. He was asking if I would be happier if they did a BOGO or half-off special.....at least that is what I understood the face-palm to signify, but BDYZR can clarify if he so chooses. I'd still go to Publix either way because they have **** good chicken wings....

For instance if a 2 liter is $1.99 regularly, for BOGO it is usually around $2.05-$2.10 depending on the store. At least this was a regular occurrence at the Lakeside Publix in Winderemere, FL. As a 16 year old stocker, I was in charge of ordering for the soda isle. I didn't realize that the WD brand soda, Chex, came by the palette. So when I ordered 18 cases for the week, 18 palettes arrived. Needless to say WD ran a Chex sale for about 2 months. The display was wild......because they had so much product to work with. I am impressed at how much responsibility they trusted you with. I guess I have to ask here-did they keep you on after that incident?

I also did a stint at Winn-Dixie in high school. I made $4.25 an hour when I started. They're not going to fire a kid making minimum wage (at the time, or close to it) for ordering too much of a product they would sell anyway.
