2014–15 Georgia Tech 12–19 3–15 14th

Georgia Tech: 76–86 (.469) 27–61 (.307)
Total: 248–180 (.579)

I guess the idea is he took an 11 win GTech to 21 wins with an NIT and they fired him for it...Pastner then took the team Gregory rebuilt 17-15 and won ACC COY.

It's better than Antigua or Masiello...but not a slam dunk hire.

I've also heard Mark Gottfried's name floated for @USFMBB job (unsubstantiated), but bear in mind: Doug Woolard was his high school coach.

Gottfried would be an outstanding hire...took Bama to an Elite Eight and NC State to two Sweet 16s with over 400 career wins.

let NC State and Texas pay big chunks of you basketball and football salaries the next couple years.

I think he comes off as pretty obnoxious in that article. I can understand him feeling that way, and he's not necessarily wrong, but saying "who would have ever imagined that beating our rivals was important", after getting canned for underperformance, is pretty eye-roll-worthy. Dude, you were below .500 your last two years. Total lack of self awareness - the person who has terrible relationships with everyone, and then goes on and on about how everyone is an *******. Hey, maybe you're the problem?

Not to get to down on that as an option, because he may very well be the best option. But come on bro.

I dunno, maybe, but only if he gets to bring his brother along like Antigua:

The idea is probably mostly what he did at Dayton, not Ga Tech .... and there won't be a slam dunk hire with any of the names mentioned or anyone realistically available.

As long as they tell him that they are actually hiring to win. Apparently that needs to be made clear to him at the outset.
