Whether people like it or not, the playoff is the most fair system college football has ever had.

This is true.  But it's still not as fair as it should be.

Football is a much more dangerous sport than basketball. Putting kids out on a basketball for 6 more games poses a much less risk than football.

The FCS level does it just fine.

They really need to go with the same system they use in d2 but the p5 will never allow it

CFB has been ruined by money. It's sad because it was one of my favorite things to watch. I care less and less each year.

As if on cue, NCAA president Mark Emmert wants an eight-team playoff. It should be no surprise that his motive is to ensure that teams like Penn State and Oklahoma don't get left out rather than letting in a G5 team.

Instead of our realistic chances of making the playoffs being 2 in 1,000,000, they're now 4 in 1,000,000.

USF's chances went from not likely to never going to happen. For how much the Big East is trashed now, had a team gone undefeated they would have been in. WVU and Louisville had their chances and choked, USF did too for that matter.

To the OP, this system wasn't set up to be more fair, it was set up to make the old money more money. Kind of like how in politics they tell you that if you vote for them they will work for you, but what they really mean is if you vote for them they will continue to ****, pillage, and plunder to get ahead.

The inherent design of FBS is extremely flawed...

The CFP structure is a carryover from the bowl system;

It allows certain actors to make a lot of money, and leaves everyone else struggling to get a piece of the pie..

If it were more fair; FBS in general would produce more revenue

If football was so dangerous they wouldn't have added an extra game a few years ago just for the heck of it or force kids to play multitudes of meaningless bowl games.

For that matter, if its so "dangerous" why don't they outlaw it completely?

I'll tell you why:  $$$$
