Most of you know  a lot more about college football  than I  do .    If the Bcs system was so broken  that it had to be replaced, how is this G5, P5   system  more fair ? In practice  it seems to be even more unfair.  Thanks for the help, folks.

To paraphrase George Orwell, with this new system "all are equal, but some are more equal than others."

Instead of our realistic chances of making the playoffs being 2 in 1,000,000, they're now 4 in 1,000,000.

The new system is designed to have the 4 best (alleged) teams settle it on the field.  That didn't always happen with the BCS.  I think if they expand to 8 it would be just about perfect, but worry they are adding too many games for these kids.

Whether people like it or not, the playoff is the most fair system college football has ever had.

10,0000 LIKES. Just need to get it to eight teams. One G5 teams should have a spot and seven at large teams.

This system is 100% driven by profit and is not about creating a fair and equitable system for all programs in the FCS.

If college basketball can figure out a valid (and profitable) system, why can't college football?

Football is a much more dangerous sport than basketball. Putting kids out on a basketball for 6 more games poses a much less risk than football.
