he had the 95th rated defense this year. 106th last year

He was literally starting 9 sophomores on defense this year in a conference where defense has been horrific for a decade. But it doesn't matter I guess. Guy who coached two national championship defenses and went to a BCS bowl with Louisville (even if he "cheated")

Jeff Scott, co-offensive coordinator at Clemson could be an option.   Seems to have a strong recruiting skill.   He also has central Florida family roots.

I like it.

Strong wasn't a good fit at Texas. Here he would be a better fit as he has strong recruiting ties to Florida while at Texas he didn't have strong ties to Texas.

And he leaves USF with zero bowl wins and a losing record

And as the only USF coach to win 10 games (CJL never did this at any competition level) and multiple NFL prospects on offense for the first time in program history, and fixed the dumpster fire of a roster he inherited.

Charlie Strong is not coming to USF, and for that matter neither is any  power 5 big name coach. Sorry that is the truth. Larry Scott is a possibility but no, why you may ask? he has never be a coordinator let alone and head coach so nope. Here is my realistic names....Also they are all Jimbo guys or proven coordinators of head coaches....

1. PJ Fleck

2. Greg Frey

3. Calvin McGee

4. Lawrence Dawsey

5. Joey Jones

6. Neal Brown

Those are realistic names not fantasy, all have been either head coaches or coordinators at winning programs. I would love to see PJ Fleck, LD, or McGee as the head coach.

5
  1. PJ Fleck - Yes (Who USF will hire)
  2. Greg Frey - No
  3. Calvin McGee - No
  4. Lawrence Dawsey - No
  5. Joey Jones - Yes (My Personal Pick)
  6. Neal Brown - No (He is a weenie)

As usual, I would like to see USF at least entertain Tommy Bowden or Terry Bowden - or both. But the likelihood of them doing this will be the same as them interviewing Jim Leavitt, so its a mute point.

You lost all credibility with the Bowden brothers...

Not so fast... they can win at our AAC level of play, they can recruit in FL and the south, and best yet won't bolt.

Joey Jones is my realistic pick.

What was ours?  And how were his defenses at Louisville?

Joey Jones would be a terrible choice!

He would be worst than Holtz.

How do you think he would be a good fit here?

so we are in play for Charlie, right?

1. we cant not even draw 50 thousand to a game

2. our Coaches salary pool is horrible

3.  Our band has to sit in the student section to make it look filled out

And I can go on forever and ever and ever and ever

also I personally know that CS is taking year off so ha

Joey Knight thinks you are wrong too

Knight: "If I were a betting man right now I'd say the money's on Charlie Strong" to get USF job

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
