Realistic Coaches

Charlie Strong is not coming to USF, and for that matter neither is any  power 5 big name coach. Sorry that is the truth. Larry Scott is a possibility but no, why you may ask? he has never be a coordinator let alone and head coach so nope. Here is my realistic names....Also they are all Jimbo guys or proven coordinators of head coaches....

1. PJ Fleck 

2. Greg Frey

3. Calvin McGee

4. Lawrence Dawsey

5. Joey Jones

6. Neal Brown

Those are realistic names not fantasy, all have been either head coaches or coordinators at winning programs. I would love to see PJ Fleck, LD, or McGee as the head coach.

We are not the same USF as when we hired WT. We are absolutely in play for Strong. He will use it as a way to land another big time job

2. our Coaches salary pool is horrible

3.  Our band has to sit in the student section to make it look filled out

And I can go on forever and ever and ever and ever

I agree, I think Strong is a strong candidate... He's going to make his money from Texas for the next 2 years. He can come here, build up a defense and maintain this offense, win 2 conference championships, and then chase the money if he wants.

I don't want USF to feel like we have to settle for a second-rate coach. Harlan should talk to everyone and make an offer to the best qualified coach.

Second, I think we have to accept the stepping stone mentality. We need to bring in the best coaches and let them leave if they want. Build in some great buyouts as a way to either make them stay, or, at least increase the amount we can pay the next guy. If we want in the P5, we have to keep winning, be sustainable. We can't hire a potentially bad coach that tears us down the way Holtz did. Strong can recruit. Anyone who can recruit Florida and recognize talent will do well in the AAC. With good recruiting, we'll always have more talent than anyone else in our conference except maybe UCF.

I'd say Strong or Scott are the top of the list for me (assuming that we can't get Leavitt back)

Fleck is a better then charlie strong....PJ FLECK is a reach I will give you that but he is like Urban at BG back in 2000s  so maybe....
