Whatever. The conference has enough detractors. Maybe our fan bases would care more if we were getting paid and had equal access to significant bowls like those schools.

And besides, just because our fanbases are currently smaller doesn't mean they suck or cannot grow. Wasn't too long ago UofL was one of us.

When every comment is 100%, please come back to me. North Dakota State sells out games, not quite P5 caliber.

That was an excellent read and the facts cannot be disputed. We can kick some ass and that has to be reckoned with. We will be 10 and 2 with what to show for it?

Agreed, it's hard to get excited about a contest, when you know, from the beginning, that no matter how well you perform during the season, you have no chance of winning the championship.

Well, perhaps an afternoon of football for the 14K students of NDSU is certainly more entertaining than EVEN MORE HOURS spent with a laser-like focus on wheat, soy beans, corn and canola. Attendance is a complex issue (if it were simple it'd have been solved some time back).

ON TOPIC: A great read from the commissioner. While the focus is rankings, it makes a case for the AAC to be included in the power conferences. That would give you arguably the top half of NCAA football (as a lot of the examples cited in the article tout the merits of the one or two teams in other conferences) and when Texas and Oklahoma boogie from the Big XII...the remaining teams would have a home in place (with no perception of taking a 'step down').

It's good to be a snob.

North Dakota State? You mean 5-0 vs Div I Power 5 teams with 81 wins 6 losses since 2011 North Dakota State? 5 consecutive National championships North Dakota State?

I see this as a direct, reasonable comparison to us.

Not that hard to sell out a 19k statdium when there is little else to do in Fargo compared to the cities of many AAC schools.

Fail.

Back to the 100% comment. But you keep trying. I'll be here and at every home USF game for the foreseeable future.

ONLY 14k students compared to 30k - 50k. Try again.

You can't compare USF to NDSU or UND.  I'm from North Dakota.  When I lived there, whether you had attended college or not, you pledged allegiance to one school or the other.   A lot of NDSU fans are the midwest version of Cane fans.  They didn't actually go to the school, but then cheer on the team and attend its games.

With state schools in Florida having already established those sorts of fan allegiances, USF can only really rely on its alumni and their associates for support.  So, North Dakota college football is not a fair comparison to USF college football.  IMO

Memphis leads the gem of the AAC #20 Houston 24-17 with 7:40 left in the 2nd quarter with the ball on the Houston 12...a lot of game left
