Rick and Tom Cancelled

So WDAE cancels the only radio show in Tampa that at least acknowledges USF athletics and replaced it with Mike and Mike.  I know USF doesn't get as much local attention as it should but at least I could count on CWT doing interviews every Tuesday after a game as well as players and other columnist talking about USF.  Why replace a local show with something as crappy as Mike and Mike who are just going to talk about the Patriots, Lebron, and Tebow 24/7.  I hope their rating tank!

Because Mike and Mike is a huge brand that will generate a lot more ratings than Rick and Tom. My fiancee likes Mike and Mike, so does my Mom. It's an easy decision.

That's tough for the folks who listen during morning drive.  With Tampa having three professional sports franchises, it's hard to imagine there not being a local sports talk radio show for morning drive at some point.

I usually get Ronnie and TKras on my way in to work.  They have said before when someone called up asking, "Why dont you talk about 'X Team/Sport" (Not specifically USF).  They basically said not enough people call in for that specific thing, and if more people called in about certain things it would get more air time.  I'm not as familiar with rick and tom but, ronnie and tkras uses a lot of calls to push topics

The Commish is probably the best sports radio listen in Tampa.
