The AAC is looking competitive now, but year by year, the gap between the P5 and the G5 will grow. The difference between the P5 and G5 TV contracts is just too large. If the AAC could get a better TV contract, we could be closer to competing with the P5, but that won't happen unless there is an audience interested in AAC games (ratings). I will argue that the talent gap between the 'P5' and 'G5' and FCS for that matter has been tightening up. The NFL/CFL will find you no matter where you play. You are probably right about the gap in talent level. It could start to get tighter over time. But for now, the gap in revenue level between P5 and G5 is getting bigger each year. There is a cap of 85 scholarships a football team can have, but a recently filed lawsuit is challenging that status quo. If successful, huge programs like Bama and Texas could take as many players as they wanted and prevent other schools from getting them. IMO it would wreck CFB.http://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/06/sports/ncaafootball/lawsuit-challenges-ncaa-transfer-rules.html?_r=0

It would years before this would happen.

Less than 4 years and $40+ million dollars from EASports to stop making NCAA Football.

Athletic departments will be more resourceful than EASports. Congressmen and Senators don't give a crap about some company making video games but they will fight for their university. Further, the implications are much greater than $40 mil.
