Our next coach needs to be a home run.  A proven commodity, and I can't think of any better than Butch. 

He knows how to coach at this level and beyond. 

He knows FL very well, so recruiting will not drop (actually expect it to get even better). 

He could probably be signed below premium at first, and once he can turn the ship around we will have the room to pay more to retain him.

We are on the brink of complete collapse.

 

Now the risk.  I think he has been exonerated from the scandals at UM and UNC.  The cheating at UM spanned multiple coaching tenures & the fraud at UNC existed well before him.  Both places suffered systematic corruption.  He may not be innocent of everything, but he appears to be the scapegoat for the larger offenses.

It would definitely be a big name hire. He was never found to have anything to do with the sanctions at um or unc so we wouldn't have to worry about that too much

No. That ship has passed. My money would be with Mario Cristobal. But I'm still in the minority hoping that WT can turn things around this year. There was just no heart in that last game. None.

Man I hope not. Don't want retreads like Butch or Schiano. Would rather have an up and coming P5 coordinator like Houston got.

No on him and No on Schiano. We need atleast a little loyalty to the program with a desire to be in Florida and at USF for the future and not a stepping stone.
