The only thing I can think was that Flowers was gassed?  Holy crap QF just threw one in the dirt.

Because we couldn't win with another drive that takes 8 minutes. Let Bench go try and air it out. He got picked, MD scored again. Game over so put QF back in

Yep...little to late. If you really wanted to give yourself or Bench a chance you start him at the begining of the second half....

 

my wife laughed at QF last play...

That's my take on it. If you are going to play Bench start the second half. Not let the offense get moving then yank him

It seems the best way to set Bench up to fail is to put him in the game.    Also, he might not have been totally responsible for the interception (even though he threw it high to Bronson) it was his

It's amazing what a change in QB did for Maryland. Bench shoulda got the whole second half.

 

Correction:  He should have gone in after that pick QF threw deep in the first half.  I think we would have won this game.  Maryland was making all kinds of mistakes.

Seriously though he looked gassed before that TD drive.  The TD looked like it took everything we had.  Maybe they wanted to give him a series off.

This. Can't take another 8 minute drive to score plus you put Bench into a high risk situation where he will likely fail and you can justify Flowers.
