Is this the new Ironside thread ?

...Already mentioned:

Fla33, are you looking to make this your Ironside, Part 2?

To see that would have required a second reading.  ;)  First time I checked it wasn't there, and the thread has grown.  Figured someone might have an agenda by now.

You know, there was this 6'-1" fellow italian kid from Illinois named Jimmy Garoppolo who didn't get any offers from FBS programs and he grew into a 6'-3" first round draft choice out of Eastern Illinois.  You never know what a kid can become by his junior and senior college years with great coaching.  Don't sell this Rizzo kid short.

You are correct, but for every Jimmy Garoppolo there are dozens, if not hundreds, of Tommy Evelds.

I'll sure be glad when some of you guys start recruiting for USF.

So which is the side you're making fun of?

The side who wants us to offer this kid because they see something in him our coaching staff (and the rest of the schools in the FBS) doesn't? Or the side that thinks there might be something to the fact that lightly recruited kids are usually lightly recruited because they aren't very good?

Both actually. You can find plenty of stories about kids that were not recruited. Blake Bortles comes to mind on the side of not being recruited. Driskel comes to mind of highly recruited bombs.

So recruiting threads should henceforth only contain the kids name, that we've secured his commitment, and then lots of nodding in agreement?

Also you may praise the weather, which of course was the main reason for the commitment.

And of course this also applies to Publix

Is it because of the subs or the fried chicken?
