I wish this talk of Ray Ray to USF would end.  He's not coming here.  End of story.  I'm sure he's intrigued by playing with his cousin and friends from the area, but at the end of the day he's going to do what's best for him and his desire to play at the next level.  If we finish with Baity and Griffin, this will be a really good class considering the crap product on the field the last 4 years.  Go Bulls!

No need to wish...it'll all be over tomorrow.

Looks like VJax is lobbying hard for the local guys to stay home. Of course, each kid has to do what's (they think) is best for them, but doesn't mean people can't get their hopes up...even if just for a HUGE long shot.

I like Mack/Johnson/Swanson in the backfield for the next 3 years, so I'm not sweating this...though you always want a 5 star if you can get him.

By my count, 6 of the 19 recruits are DBs.  I know we're running a new D this year, and need more secondary, but I'm concerned that we may be light on both lines (and at LB)...not to mention QB.

It could always be positive PR for the next class...."Hey, Ray Ray was seriously considering USF...I know I have offers to Wisconsin, Maryland and Illinois and I'm a 4 star...but man if it was good enough for him to almost flip, it's good enough for me to stay home and play."

Same deal with Yearby last year. He wasn't coming, but it put USF in the recruiting talk big time.

You stay classy, Bobby Petrino: Longtime Louisville Commit Asked to Greyshirt Two Days Before Signing Day - http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/longtime-louisville-commit-asked-to-greyshirt-two-days-before-signing-day-161811413.html â€¦

Matt Colburn was verbally committed to Louisville since June. That changed on Monday.

According to multiple outlets, Louisville pulled its scholarship offer from Colburn, a Rivals three-star running back from Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, South Carolina. Instead of signing his national letter of intent with the Cardinals on Wednesday with the rest of the program’s 2015 class, Louisville has extended a grayshirt offer for Colburn, which would delay his enrollment until January.

Colburn told the Courier-Journal that Louisville assistant Tony Grantham said the team “needed additional defensive backs†in its 2015 class, so the program could not accept his letter of intent this week. Louisville lost three defensive backs to early entry for the NFL draft.

Will trade 2 of our DB recruits for him:

You know what Colburn could do? He could reopen his recruiting and visit some more schools that have scholarships available. He could find a school that wants him and fits what he's looking for. He has 5+ months until practice to find a new school.

That's what he's doing. According to the article, his high school coach is trying to help him secure an ACC or SEC offer.

Then I'm only half-sympathetic since he's openly declaring he has to have an SEC or ACC offer. I think at this point, declaring yourself too good for other conference's schools is a bit foolish. Especially Navy.
