As for execution, it seems like things have to go perfectly in order for a play to work. No margin for error, and with a young team like this, there will be errors. Taggart is going to have to pray that it clicks and then he can show these kids that it does work. Make them believe in it. Once they believe, then confidence will grow.

After watching a few of the plays yesterday it became pretty clear that this offense is way too sophisticated to teach an average college team. It is not a matter of being smart enough for them to learn. It is like a machine. Every cog must read, adjust and execute perfectly on almost every play. Otherwise it takes a great personal effort by the ball carrier to do it on his own. If one player makes a mistake the play bogs down.

Just simplify the play calling. Simplify the blocking assignments so there is room for error and show a little creativity in your play calling.

This is where I think Taggart is wrong. The offense is too sophisticated for college guys that only get about 20 hours of practice a week to not only learn the plays, but to learn to work as a unit on every play.

The plays themselves are poorly designed as well.

Of course he would say that. He doesn't understand that the kids don't understand how to execute what he is trying to implement.

His excuse is the don't execute what we give them. Well no **** genius.

It is like giving calculus to a fifth grader and saying they didn't do the math correctly.

At some maybe you need to understand it is the teacher and not the students.

If the problem is execution the fault lies in the coaching staff for not preparing the players properly.

They look so listless and lifeless.,

The team even looked listless and lifeless getting off the bus walking toward the stadium through the south side lots. These players looked like they lost even before stepping foot on the field.

I noticed that too while I was tailgating in LOT6. We brought new fans with us and they mentioned that the players look like they are not used to being awake that early. They just didnt have the hyped up look. I know it was only 9:30 and the kickoff was noon, but **** this is supposed to be a rivalry game. Got to be up on that.

Goes along with the statement that Taggart has lost the team.
