  1. I am thinking that after about the third game Harlan will be shopping for a new bus.
  2. 6-18 is one thing. Barely winning some of those games against awful football programs and never being in many games that they lost is even worse. Of the other 6-18 teams out there over the past two years USF would lose to most of them.
  3. Nobody attends games when your best offense is to punt the ball and hope the opponent fumbles it.
  4. If we don't change coaches a QB who can call his own plays
  5. If the problem is execution the fault lies in the coaching staff for not preparing the players properly.
  6. The Bulls football team actually didn't play bad in the first half of the season but the second half of the season was awful despite playing much easier opponents. Below is the minutes USF played while behind, while tied or while leading their games this season. Opponent Time Behind Time Tied Time Ahead W. CAROLINA 31 MIN 02 SEC 9 MIN 01 SEC 19 MIN 57 SEC MARYLAND 21 MIN 34 SEC 20 MIN 48 SEC 17 MIN 38 SEC NC STATE 46 MIN 42 SEC 13 MIN 18 SEC 0 MIN 0 SEC UCONN 0 MIN 0 SEC 3 MIN 38 SEC 56 MIN 22 SEC @ WI 25 MIN 43 SEC 28 MIN 20 SEC 5 MIN 57 SEC ECU 11 MIN 42 SEC 14 MIN 07 SEC 34 MIN 11 SEC @ TULSA 46 MIN 50 SEC 6 MIN 57 SEC 6 MIN 13 SEC @ CINCY 57 MIN 05 SEC 2 MIN 55 SEC 0 MIN 0 SEC HOUSTON 47 MIN 54 SEC 12 MIN 06 SEC 0 MIN 0 SEC @ SMU 43 MIN 07 SEC 16 MIN 49 SEC 0 MIN 4 SEC @ MEMPHIS 49 MIN 29 SEC 7 MIN 23 SEC 3 MIN 8 SEC UCF 40 MIN 38 SEC 19 MIN 22 SEC 0 MIN 0 SEC SEASON TOTAL 421 MIN 46 SEC 154 MIN 44 SEC 143 MIN 30 SEC LAST 6 GAMES 285 MIN 03 SEC 65 MIN 32 SEC 9 MIN 25 SEC In the last 6 games USF had the lead for 9 minutes and 25 seconds out of a possible 360 minutes despite playing Tulsa, Cincinnati, Houston, SMU, Memphis and UCF. Do you think CWT lost his team in the second half of the season? They certainly didn't improve as the year went on.
  7. My question to Harlan would be this. If Willie Taggart did not have a guaranteed contract would he be your head coach in 2015? If his answer is no then he must get rid of Taggart now and find a way to make it work as that is his job. I understand that the NFL is different than NCAA football and USF does not have the budget like NFL teams do. That being said, in 1999 first year head coach Ray Rhodes led the Green Bay Packers to an 8-8 record. Seeing how Rhodes ran the team and how they underperformed on the field Ron Wolf fired Rhodes after his first season even though he didn't have a losing record. If Harlan believes that Willie is doing the right thing every day and that the ship will turn around that is fine. However, by doing so he should expect to be held accountable for what Willie's teams accomplish or fail to accomplish going forward. He has had enough time to evaluate Taggart and determine whether or not he is capable of being a good college head coach. I have not seen the stat from this season of how many minutes we have been ahead or behind in games but based on watching most games this season I would think that stat would surprise people with how bad this team really was. Personally, I don't think Willie is a bad person but I do not see him ever being a good college head coach, at least not at USF. Taggart now has a career head coaching record of 22-38. I will leave you with one last thought. Taggart left Western Kentucky for the USF obviously because he thought that USF was a better job and a better football school. Today Western Kentucky knocked off undefeated and #24 ranked Marshall at Marshall with first year head coach Jeff Brohm at the helm (note: Brohm had never been a head coach prior to this season). If USF was to play 7-5 Western Kentucky next week on a neutral field USF would be 7 point underdogs.
  8. At least Harlan didn't say he was happy with what he sees on the field. There is no organization from the head coach on down. Players look lost because the coaches are lost. Team is breaking the huddle on offense and scrambling to snap the ball before the play clock expires constantly and this was the last game of the year not the first game of the year. You convert a 4th and 1 with a QB sneak and on the 1 yard line you can't figure out what just worked and to try the same play the you were just successful with. As unorganized as they are on gameday I can only imagine how poorly the team practices are run. The dropped passes and players not running the plays right are because the kids are checked out, either they don't believe in the coach or they aren't being held accountable in practice. This team has looked awful in just about every game against many bad opponents. There is a reason USF ranks #126 in the nation behind 23 FCS schools and it is because of the head coach. USF has gone backwards in two years with no signs of improvement. Key players are still getting suspended, stupid penalties continue to happen, players make bad decisions on the field or run the plays wrongs, it is the ultimate nightmare for USF fans. I have ZERO confidence in Taggart and do not know why any high school seniors with any talent would want to play for him. Stop memorizing Drake lyrics and learn how to coach football Willie!
  9. That loss to Bama was very respectable. Perhaps they will join the AAC next year.
  10. People wore bags over their heads to protest Skip. USF fans won't do that to Willie because they have flat out stopped going to the games. Anyone who thinks the situation hasn't gotten worse two years later is fooling themselves.
  11. Maybe I am being too tough on Western Carolina. They did bounce back after losing to USF 36-31 by beating Brevard and Catawba at home. Just don't look to closely at their 51-0 loss to Chattanooga on the road.
  12. I'd say if Memphis scores here the game is over but in reality the game was over once Memphis scored more than 17 points
  13. Seminoles just won. At lease one team with the letters U, S and F in their school name knows how to win.
