The Good - USF run defense, White was accurate, Oline blocked better

The Bad - Coaching, especially on offense, settled into the run game too much and did not take advantage of very good field position in the second quarter, should ahve put that game away early

The Ugly - The dropped passes, lack of pass defense when needed in the 4th to close out the game

Been a long time since USF out manned another team but tonight we did. Had some great field position and didn't take advantage of it.

Great summary.  For The Good, I'd add Ciabatti's punting...amazing and some stunt calls on the D (starting with Dunk's sack, strip & recovery).

In retrospect I've become more relaxed about the settling down into the run game. The rain is a huge wildcard and they couldn't do anything against our D. The plan was clearly to protect the ball and survive the night without any more repeats of the unlucky TO.

[edit] - and yeah, major props to Ciabatti. Two inside the 5 and another inside the 10, that was gold indeed

The Good - White showed poise

The Bad - The dropped passes

The Ugly - The pick six

I thought coaching was perfect considering the weather.

Agree, that kind of rain is not really the time for maverick playcalling.

Of course, if UConn had opened up their offense sooner than than the last drive of the game, we might be singing a different tune.

Good

White was pretty accurate, that was some of the best punting I have seen five punts downed in the 20, O-Line did much better

in this game and defensive line did very good.  Also RBs did a great job holding onto the ball.

Bad

Receiver still had some drops but it was very wet but still needs to be fixed.

Ugly

That pick six, total fluke but geez that was ugly.

I don't think it was UConn opening up their offense as much as us going into a prevent defense (which I really don't like).  We were trying to make them burn clock as they ran down the field.  I would have preferred that we get them to punt and then WE run the clock out.

Yeah they went into a prevent defense.   I hate the prevent defense it just allows the other team to score but just eats the clock up which coach was fine with….I say keep doing what was working all game.
