I don't believe we rushed that good. It was only mack ability to break out, no scheme what so ever. I can blame the coaching staff for that since we are a running offense. To many QB throws ( with bad Qb) which even made it harder to move the chains or the clock.

I'll say this:  I saw several balls fall out of receiver's hands on offense.  White got rattled a few times yes.  I am concerned about his passing.  But I don't want to lay all of the blame on him.  Some of these receivers are dropping balls or not hustling enough to get them.  I'll split the blame there.

The offense and game plan were fine.  The receivers were open.  Quarterback has to execute.

Not sure what game you saw, but I don't recall seeing drops.  Duval couldn't hold onto a pass for a first down, but he got drilled as he was catching it.

White was 9 of 26.  That's 17 incompletions.  Even if there were 1-2 drops, and 1-2 thrown out of bounds intentionally, that puts MOST of the blame on White.  He usually had ample time.  He overthrew Davis for an easy TD.  With a guy like Davis getting 5-6 behind the DB, you have to throw the ball inside and let him adjust at snag it.  Davis wins that right almost everytime.

Hopefully he relaxes and settles in with accuracy.  If not, bring in Bench.  Then Wilson or Flowers.  But I don't care who you are playing, 35% completion rate sucks hard.

I think the offense is fine. White threw a lot of passes too high and even a few too low. Our guys got good spacing and could have prevented some punts if the throws were a little better. I am ok with first game jitters I just think he needs to execute better next week.

If we can show that this offense can work we can start attracting some of those bigger linemen who leave to Big10 schools and even the ones at FSU and UF. There are plenty of big boys down here in FL. Just have to show we have the personnel to make it happen.

As far as WCU's defense goes, they were making Mack beat them. I would have done the same. If I saw the opposing QB was rattled or off the mark, I would make them beat me on the ground. Those big runs were just the difference in athletic ability. Even so, the game was within 5 with 9 seconds to go. If one of those huge runs doesnt happen...we lose again. Their defensive game plan was solid and we just happened to overcome.

Only thing I want to see from the offense is improved accuracy at QB. The defense is my issue. I know the spread is difficult to cover but some of their guys were WIDE OPEN at times.

I counted one pass that was a bad throw and possibly catchable but dropped.  The others were uncatchable, and most of the time the pass was uncatchable or the pass led the receiver into a defender instead of away from the defender.  I hope he figures it out, but Bench is ready now.

I did not understand all of the sprint outs and roll outs with White. My belief is he is not that type of quarterback.

I need to watch the replay but I sure don't remember a whole lot of sprint/roll outs .... Most glaring miss to me was the one down near the goal, at the students, where he threw behind the receiver on the quick slant that would have been a td.

He had one where Adams was so open that a good pass would have been an easy 20 yard gain.

There is so much whining and complaining about a win. Amazing.

I'm not going to suggest Willie isn't a good coach but I remain unconvinced that his offense will ever work here.I'm curious to hear what everyone else's opinion on this is long term... forget this season or next.... is it a sustainable model for USF?

The talent in Florida is arguably the best recruiting zone in the conference for speed and width... not necessarily maulers in the trenches.

WCU's performance proves again the spread is the great equalizer. Considerably less talent but they got their players in space.

Against Maryland and Wisconsin... they will have no respect for our passing game and stack the box. Our QB has to win those games.

I don't think the scheme is the problem. I saw a lot of opportunity that was missed during that game.

Finding our stud QB Mack is one key to this scheme, the next is either getting White more accurate, more physical and even bigger (which may happen as he grows up) but more than likely he is not our long term QB and we will move on down to Flowers. The question is if it happens this season and if it does happen this season is Flowers going to be up to his potential. I think this season will be White if he accuracy comes up or we move to bench for the bulk of the season.

Our OL, we need more big ugglies. Having 2 starters go down hurt, not having the depth hurt more. Give it another recruiting class or two an they will be consistent.

Taggart is still grabbing the parts, I think Year 4, and yes he will get a year 4. Will be a very special year for the BULLS, Year 3 will look pretty good too. This year we will take lumps but will make it 6-6 and hopefully a bowl. The saving grace to us having a weak team is that most our conference does also.

Can't wait to see how we look against Maryland. I think this game will actually be close. I think we will make adjustments and play up to our opponent. I think the heat will have some effect on them as well. I think they are right to be favored but yes I am saying there is a chance.
