So the rule says, per the article:

 

other than the player's number, the jersey may only contain the player's name, school name, NCAA logo, sleeve stripes, the American and/or state flag and a logo for the school, conference, mascot, postseason game, memorial or the military.

 

Why wouldn't they consider sub'ing "USF" in there to keep the team theme? I could probably get behind that, but I like blank better than a generic "the team". "serious social media backlash"...LOL

I didn't.  I think it's even dumber that it was a violation.  Pretty sure I said that last page.

Taggart just tweeted that every player is legally changing their last name to The Team.  We will be in compliance.
