Just for the record, for the first time ever, i think i am behind a coaching change in this instance. HOWEVER, take a look at the roster 4 Srs, 8 Jrs and 21 underclassmen; 8 of 12 players who appeared in fridays game were underclassmen, in saturdays game there were almost as many freshman startuing (3) as there were jr/sr (4) in sundays game all 5 pitchers that USF used were freshmen. Add in to that the mysterious disappearance of Michael Farley who has the stuff to be good (4.1 innings of no hit ball against FSU) and you have the makings of a way worse year than .500. Whomever gets this team next year is going to have a young team loaded with experience and if Teaf & Mulholland come back. Forget it. I realize our war cry is 'Wait'll next year!' but this time I mean it. :vikinghorns:

If the same brain trust that made the Stan decision is making the call, he's definitely gone ... even if not the same making the call, 8 years with not even a regional, in this state, is going to be a tough sell on Lelo's part.

I would accept that excuse if it was say, 1-2 bad years. However 8 years without making a regional squashes that.

Don't follow USF baseball as much as other sports, but yeah, the state has been known for baseball talent for a long time. Not being able to produce a winner in this environment is definitely a red flag.

Why, aren't Rutgers and Southern Cal your favorite teams?

I'm also one that does not call for coaching changes. However, when looking at Louisville's program ...

In 11 seasons, Prado was 320-301-1 (148-151-1) with one Regional appearance.

His replacement, Dan McDonnell, with one game left in the regular season of this year (his 8th at UofL), is 351-155 (145-63) with 3 Regionals, a Super Regional, and 2 CWS appearances under his belt. Louisville will probably get, at least, an at large bid to the NCAAs this year.

To me anyway, it looks like the best thing that happened to Louisville baseball was Prado leaving for the USF job.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
