I'm also one that does not call for coaching changes. However, when looking at Louisville's program ...

In 11 seasons, Prado was 320-301-1 (148-151-1) with one Regional appearance.

His replacement, Dan McDonnell, with one game left in the regular season of this year (his 8th at UofL), is 351-155 (145-63) with 3 Regionals, a Super Regional, and 2 CWS appearances under his belt. Louisville will probably get, at least, an at large bid to the NCAAs this year.

To me anyway, it looks like the best thing that happened to Louisville baseball was Prado leaving for the USF job.

What was the record of the guy before Prado at Louisville?

Prado took over a bad program and was the best thing Louisville ever had until McDonnell. Still, there is no evidence, in the 11 years he was there, that he could do what his successor did. His work at USF has presented nothing to dispute that, in my opinion.

Fwiw I live 2 doors down from a college head baseball coach here at one of our local schools. Spoke with him today about the USF situation. He knows Prado and told me he was a terrible recruiter and not a great talent evaluator. Also said he went and watched the Memphis series and said that he had better players on his team at about 5 positions which should never be the case.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
