I rarely if ever comment on this board though I frequent it every day.  I enjoy the comments and the fact that we are all passionate about USF and the athletics programs at the school.  But this thread absolutely takes the cake and is so bush league.  Listen fellow USF lovers, this guy misrepresented himself and kudos to USF for calling him on it.  This doesn't make USF look bad, this makes us awesome.  That our school wants to do it right and anything else will not be tolerated.  If I was a potential coach I would want to come and coach here all the more. We will find a great coach.  Calm down :)

The problem with this thread, as so often happens in here, is that it was started without knowing all the facts. Not knowing WHY USF did what they did ...

How about a coach looking to go from a $200,000/yr job to one that pays $1 million/yr?

Ding!

Aggravates me to no end that some of our "fans" would be slamming the school without any knowledge. Sadly, it would be these same characters that would be crying "clowns" if the school had actually hired him! No, this makes us look serious and thorough.

This will definitely impede the process as the ass backwards process (background checks should be reviewed before an offer us extended) also needlessly embarrassed a potential candidate and left him in a tough spot.

I spoke to soon and put my foot in my mouth on this. Now that the reason is out this is ALL on Masiello.

It's all good. We care and that's why we are on here. It was a very tough morning for a lot of diehard Bulls.

I was reading the posts this morning looking for a smoking gun that pointed to ineptitude on our administrations part. I did not find one, so I waited for the official statements. I was upset, but I am glad that I waited.... I would have walked away as well.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
