Wish him the best, I hope he can power up and make the cut for the draft. I think he needed another year to polish, but can't blame him at all!

For me, those guys who were here for a cup of coffee are not Bulls. I respect that many take an alternative view and disagree with me but I just don't feel the same compared to a player who was here two to four years. I said the the same thing about JPP. I guess I am old school on this.

Lynch was a Bull for 2 years.

I think he meant on the field.

Yeah I meant on the field but this is a very good point. The kid did invest two years here so I do retract my point as it realtes to Lynch.

Perhaps his year of practice under Holtz seemed more fun than the iron fisted reign of Willie Taggart? Some guys just don't have the thick skin for it - he knows he has the physical tools for it and a freshman highlight reel to jump from.

Yeah, CWT really laid down the law and didn't stand for silly ass penalties that plagued Holtz led teams. And he certainly didn't accept that crap from Lynch.

Guy was a bust. Playing in a depleted conference he musters a few sacks late in some meaningless losses against 2nd or 3rd string guys.6'6" 244????.he missed a year because of his transfer so you would think he hits the weights and gets up to 260- 265lbs and comes out smoking. I didn't see it. DeDe goes to the combine .lynch works at Lowes.

First - This is a substantial loss IMO. Push comes to shove, he was rated a top DE by the AAC and he was a starter for us. That says something about our talent behind him if you think Lynch is not a loss. For a 2-10 team, he was the best product we could place on the field. When we're 10-2 in a couple seasons, many of you will call Lynch a bust - however the biggest problems with our team weren't on defense. It was the offense that killed us game in and game out.

Second - You're in college to make money in whatever you're specializing. I can't fault him for making the business decision to move forward in life. It would be similar to second guessing Mark Zuckerberg for dropping out of Harvard to pursue some venture called Facebook. Come on - it's Harvard. Who would say FU to Harvard to pursue some internet website that was only gaining popularity among college students? Yes, I get it - Lynch won't be in Zuckerberg's position 10 years later, however he definitely has a more realistic shot of immediate success with his skill set when contrasting his talents to what Zuckerberg had at the same point in their college endeavors.

Athletics are about cashing in for the short run. Education is more of a long term prognosis. Just my two cents.

I understand and agree with the premise of your post, but it went all wrong when you compared Lynch to Zuckerberg.

He's going to get drafted in the first 4-5 rounds.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
