He's been in a tough position.

 

1) Greg was a very tough act to follow.

2) USF has been having a terrible season.

3) He's had other duties outside of USF coverage

 

I think he's done fine.

 

Face it, Greg is not coming back. We all knew we were very lucky to have Greg for as long as we did.

I think he is doing fine. If you don't like the ONE coverage piece on the AAC LEADER UCF then don't read it. His twitter feed is excellent and he does a nice job in updating the other fall sports. Is he Greg? No, but then again he does not have to be.

Greg still post things about college sports(in particular for USF) want to take off his head too bc he nows does the Bucs blog? Joey used to due the high school blog so his twitter will contain references and posts to things in his old job he finds interesting enough to post.

I think Joey is doing satisfactory. Like other say he's got obligations with the paper not all his fault. Greg was on the beat a long time was able to build relationships with usf athletics. Give the guy some time. The more USF coverage the better.

I'd give him positive feedback on what he's done well and nicely mention things you haven't liked. He will be able to adjust accordingly.

It's not like he's AA out there lol

No comment on the UCF story but the biggest problem he has had is that most folks can no longer read his blog. Which is royally frustrating b/c I am a Times subscriber...but I am not going to pay an additional monthly fee. The Times needs to re- think their online strategy b/c they are going to lose a lot of readers.

It seems somewhat greedy to have their blogs become 'premium' content...especially for folks who are already subscribers to their paper. Especially when there isn't a lot of blog activity to make the expense worthwhile.
