BS. Then why aren't boxers and why won't MMA fighters be throwing a fit when they inevitably mostly have brain issues?

Is Joey Chesnut going to sue Nathan's because they never told him eating 60 hot dogs can cause serious health issues.

Not saying the NFL handled it right at all. They are bumbling fools at the league office. However, if someone doesn't get that using their head as a battering ram thousands of times can lead to brain damage, I question whether they were not already suffering from some.

I'm with Apis on this one. Get rid of shoulder pads too. Make the game more like rugby or Aussie Rules. It'll hang on to its popularity without being as dangerous.

Just get rid of all pads. At least all hard surfaces.

How does the trauma from football play compare with that of ice hockey and lacrosse, the other helmet sports?

Not sure about the affects of playing football but, from reading some of the regular comments on this board, it is apparent that watching football contributes to brain damage in some people.

So pleased that "League of Denial" showed the attempts that were made to destroy Dr. Omalu's good name. It's shameful what was done to him.

Kind of hard to hush it up when Goodell has been dragged in front of Congress to testify on it.

This is a lot that needs to be learned about this disease. Linemen appear to have the highest chance of it because every play they crash their heads into the opposing line every play.

Here is the puzzling thing. The MD that did the first autopsy that showed CTE says he may have come up with a cocktail that can reverse the disease, but the NFL has shunned him after discrediting him. They are too proud to go back and work with him on a possible cure. Just plain stupid.

That interview is from 2010 and I saw no mention of a curing cocktail during the Frontline piece. Me thinks that the good doctor is maybe looking to cash in some? Not that I have a problem with that, but it should at least be part of the perspective.
