I am sober now too, but I don't see why you feel bad for Floyd. He had his shot; he **** the bed again; so he's on the pine. It ain't personal, it's football. There's no question it wasn't all on him, but there's also no question he played atrociously.

He's just not good enough. Nothing personal, he's just not got close to what it takes to play at a college level.

Actually the sad thing is that all offseason he beat the other guys out. How bad must they have been?

You can accept how terrible he played and still empathize with the kid - he is a bull through and through and I'm sure today has been an awfully rough day for him (it's been rough for me and he has a hell of a lot more invested than I do).

Fair enough. I don't say kick him when he's down, and if I was his coach if support him and help him learn from this. I'd buy him a beer if I saw him at the bar. But I just wouldn't personally feel bad for him...he's just not cut out to be a game day QB. It's good for everyone--him included--to realize this, come to grips with it, and move on. I wish nothing but success and long years of happiness for him, and now he can do that with better focus.

Just not accurate enough, under 50% completion rate is not good!

It's never over until it's over.  Keep improving.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
