This is huge. Welcome, Mr. Bench!

Greg Auman ‏@gregauman

Bench learned a version of Patriots offense under Bill O'Brien at Penn State, so he thinks that will help him with 49ers-like USF scheme.

Good news...

Less game time experience than Floyd or Eveld. A 3* like Floyd and Eveld.

IMO a minor boost to our squad. Not getting too hyped. Glad a Nittany Lion chose us and hopefully has nerves of steel.

Are you kidding?  He's our QB Messiah ... hoping he can turn fumbled snaps into TDs and Gatorade into beer.

And on the USF campus the beer will flow like wine.

I LOL'd at this tweet exchange:

  • Greg Auman â€@gregauman11m

Bench will be immediately eligible at USF as a true sophomore this fall. Actually comes in with less game experience than Eveld or Floyd.

@gregauman But on the upside, probably less fumbling experience too

Wow ... I hope she's really not a USF Athletics intern.

Actually, her Twitter profile says she once interned with USF and is now an intern with the Lightning.

And women will instinctively flock to it like the salmon of Capistrano.

When Lynch tries to sack Bench during practice, the combination of unstoppable force and immovable object will bring on Armageddon and the end of the world as we know it.

Sounds like a BJ Daniels story waiting to happen all over again. Perhaps if CWT lives up to the hype, we'll have a legitimate chance of shocking Tallahassee again in Doak in a few years.

"Bench said he's looking forward to playing Florida State in two years. He said he went to Florida State games for six consecutive years. Both of his parents went to Florida State and were disappointed he didn't get a scholarship offer.

He grew up in Bainbridge, Ga., about 30 minutes outside of Tallahassee."

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
