Both his parents are USF Alums. Don't know how closely they follow USF football though as we obviously didn't have a team when they attended

We offered him last Jan. Now no. 3 Ctr in US acc. to 247. Scout tweets he's really liking us.

Shafer left to coach Webber Intl Univ, but then came back around '07 if I remember correctly. I know because he was a celebrity in Lake Wales(my hometown). He really brought that program back. USF's old RB, Ben Williams went to LW

Chad Barnhardt and Maikon Bonani were from Lake Wales HS.  I think that Chad was coaching there a while back, too.

Barnhardt was there when I was a freshman. I remember from when I played JV for a year. Maikon was in the same grade as me. I've known him since 6th grade. Took a lot of the same classes together and he's a great guy. I hope he makes it in the NFL.

 

Hopefully, we can sell Luke on being able to play close to home.
