Committed to Kentucky? Seriously?

Kentucky has been putting up very good classes compared to what they have been used to in the past. They have been recruiting the hell out of FL the past couple of years. Sucks because these are the guys we could be pulling in.

Check out last year and they're off to a good start this year:

Oh I know they recruit FL now. It's all BC of Stoops.

But Kentucky?

Just pisses me off

Don't waste negative energy being pissed by the ones we don't get ... rejoice in the spirit of the ones we do get.

Kentucky looks like they might be the new Louisville when it comes to recruiting FL.  We'll surely be battling them for players, but I'm just thrilled that WE are recruiting FL again.

Louisville will have lost their major FL recruiting foothold with Strong headed to Texas. We will still be fighting Stoops at UK though.

These kids are in our recruiting wheelhouse, as the last couple years we've had serious recruiting battles with UK. They offer nearly the same prospects that we hope to sign.

The bad news is as hard as Kentucky is working, they aren't going to be ever able to get the truly elite recruits because those will all go to UF/FSU/MIami. So they're going to fight until the cows come home. But I think we'll beat them out. I mean, we beat out Louisville for Marlon Mack and D'Earnest Johnson. Why can't we beat out Kentucky? Stay on Hiers and I think we still have a shot, especially if we do better than them t his year.

True, but they are perennial doormats of the SEC (and yes, sigh, I know we're the same in the crappy AAC...hopefully that trend ends soon).

Doesn't matter ... and actually had a perfect analogy of this a couple of weeks ago at a volleyball tourney. Had a really crappy Saturday, losing all 3 matches, but, because of the pool we started in by luck of the draw, we went to the Bronze bracket instead of the lowest medal bracket, Copper. Sucked Sunday, losing again in single elimination. However, because of the pool we started in on Saturday, finished 47 out of 73 going 0-4. In contrast, a team in a different age bracket went 0-3 on Saturday but came back on Sunday, went 4-0 to win the Copper, but finished 42 out 50. SEC = Gold Bracket, AAC = Copper Bracket
