I give him one more year.

What would you need to see to give him beyond next year? 6, 7,8 wins?

Legitimate list of Positives and Negatives for Holtz

Positives:

Beat Miami (2010)

Beat Notre Dame (2011)

Much higher team GPA

got the team (temporarily) ranked (2011)

Beat a BCS Conference team in a Bowl Game (2010)

(now my brain is stumped)

Negatives:

No Bowl games (2011) (2012)

15-21 overall record (assuming loss vs PITT)

9-11 @ Home (assuming loss vs PITT)

6-10 on the road

5-16 in the Big East Conference (assuming loss vs PITT)

Team has not progressed but regressed

Fans are not going to games

The team appears to continually make the same mistakes again and again

I had to look again at the BE record...5-16 and just said :wtf:

based on this info I just can't see keeping Holtz another year....what sucked the most this year is...I was not pissed Friday night...not suprised...not sad...just at a loss for words...except for :wtf:

If anybody else has an item for EITHER list that is not there please list and discuss

and sorry that i might be :icon_deadhorse:

You forgot my favorite one about now not being able to win games in low humidity...

"You just don't have the humidity up here in the air. B.J. was having a hard time holding onto the ball, complaining about it being really slick," coach Skip Holtz said after his team passed for only 164 yards. "One ball went out of the back. You could see he kept coming over to the sidelines, spraying his hands with water to try to keep them moist so he could grip the ball. He just missed a couple of balls."

The only title I see in his future is "The Biggest Loser"

Skip Holtz is so chipper, that's reason alone to keep him. He emits rays of sunshine from every orifice on his body, he feeds the team nothing but colored sprinkles when he takes them to Vero Beach every season, and he's hugely popular with baby seals and puppies. The man is a happiness juggernaut in the face of lackluster coaching and injuries. We are now the nicest school in the Big East, and for that, Skippy, I thank you. :applause:

Most if not all of his positives were made on the back on Jim Leavitts program and attitude which hung around like a ghost for the first season... the second season is when the Holtz new error began and the Holtz program and attitude took over.

Also I don't give Skip Holtz credit for the win over Notre Dame... we only beat Notre Dame because of the freak weather delays which sucked any momentum out of Notre Dame during their two come back attempts. Each time they were driving and were about to get the go ahead score the game was halted due to the weather. I credit that victory to God alone.

Our APR scores are on the way up, that's a positive.

USF isn't going to fire Skip Holtz right now because it would be almost impossible to entice a new coach w/the BE up in the air like this.

Athletics is a "What have you done for me lately?" game.

There is NO logical or emotional reason to keep skippy!

You want an EMPTY Ray-Jay.... then keep Skippy......

1) Colorado fired their coach after two years

2) Auburn fired their coach 2 years after National Championship (direction of the program)

3) Tennessee fired their coach after 3 or 4 years.

We say we want to play with the "Big Boys" and that is how the Big Boys play......

jmho,

Ty
