How about much better then that crap Heath calls an offense.

What does Heath call on offense, seriously? Is it a modified halfcourt offense? You're pretty knowledgable about USF basketball, and I have yet to hear even a semblance of a guess on what type of scheme Heath runs with the Bulls.

Ok this answer will be funny but it's true. Heath is trying run 2 offenses at the same time. The old T-offense or better known as the Dean Smith offense and a version of the Motion offense. We see the double post players, with small amounts of screening of the T, but the movement and spacing is not there which is key to not just these offenses, but any offense.

The best offense Stan had was at Kent where Todd Christian was credited as the one in charge. Dan Hipsher put in some motion at ARK and USF, but he was never able to have total control of the offense because Heath is a control freak and likes to add his ideas how the offense should look.

Bruce, Triple, and a few others are the USF historians, I'm just a young guy who like the Tampa area and wishes I could come back and to live but...

Jacksonville U coach Cliff Warren is my choice. He already coaches in Florida so he wouldn't need to build ties to recruit, and look at the guy's conference record as a coach:

2007 12-4 - 2nd

2008 15-5 - 1st - NIT bid

2009 14-6 - 1st - NIT bid

2010 13-7 - 3rd

They even beat Florida a couple of years ago, something even we probably wouldn't be able to do

More name appeal please. If we are going to go that route, we might as well promote Roccaforte as our coach. I would love that. Bring that up paced (modified street ball is what my grandad says it looks like) here. Would work really well with the player set we have.

Thanks, Vega. Whatever it is, I've yet to find any rhyme or reason to it.

with the next two classes heath has coming in I doubt he will be let go

Heath lands two for 2013, including 7-footer

It's still 19 months before they get to campus, but Stan Heath has picked up two commitments for 2013, as a pair of high school juniors from McDonough, Ga. -- 7-foot center John Egbunu, originally from Nigeria, and 6-foot point guard Drew Davis -- committed after an unofficial visit.

Egbunu is just starting to register on the recruiting radar -- his legal guardian is Davis' father, Linzy Davis, who runs the George Elite AAU program and brought Egbunu to the United States earlier this year.

"He is a 7-footer with a 38-inch vertical that can run the floor faster than guards. He's the most domininating player in Georgia since Dwight Howard," said Davis, who said he has worked with 75 players that went on to play in the NBA. "He's a tremendous young man, his attitude is off the charts. At South Florida, he said 'Here I can start my own legacy.'"

Egbunu and Davis attend Eagles Landing High School, though they are not playing for the school's basketball team, opting instead to play a prep school schedule for Georgia Elite Christian, a team run by Linzy Davis, who said the higher level of competition will help their progress. Egbunu is the second Nigerian center the Bulls have landed in the past year -- 7-foot-3 Jordan Omogbehin is redshirting this season and will play for the Bulls in 2012-13.

Egbunu has the potential to be a national top-10 player, and Davis said the two commitments should put USF among the top recruiting classes for 2013 nationally, though no major recruiting sites have updated their rankings yet. How was USF able to land such a top-tier prospect? Davis said he's had a long relationship with first-year Bulls assistant Steve Roccaforte, going back to his days as a Memphis assistant.

"They went down and made an unofficial visit and loved it," Davis said. "They really loved Stan Heath and his style. I believe South Florida is a gold mine. You're playing in the No. 1 conference in the country. Going north was not an option for these guys (seeking warmer weather)."

Davis said he discovered Egbunu at a national basketball camp in Lagos, Nigeria, three years ago, when he was a 6-foot-7 eighth grader. His academics are strong, Davis said, and he expects both players to make regular visits to Tampa next season to be around the program. Both players chose the Bulls over Memphis, but Davis said he expects them to honor their commitment and stick with the Bulls.

"From our standpoint, this is a 100 percent firm commitment," Davis said. "I'm big on loyalty and commitment. We believe Tampa is a beautiful city, and you'll see us in Tampa often."

Heath has one scholarship available for 2012 and is likely to use it on a post player, and with these two commitments, he would have only one additional scholarship available for the 2013 class, presuming all players stay in the program between now and then.

So you're saying that Stan can survive 3 more seasons of losing because of some potentially incoming talent? Not even that foolish BBB has said that. Now if you wrote that Coach Roc will still be here 2 seasons from now I would say that is a possibility.

Heath has been blessed to still have a chance to be a HC in college basketball this long considering his record. After a while being well spoken words and a smile wears thin with all the losing. Unless he changes his approach to the game, his days as a HC will soon be over.

now and then.

I'd ike to see this stuff said about this kid by the guy who does not promote him.

If he was the most dominating big man from GA since Dwight and runs like a guard and Roccaforte got him let give Roc the job already.

I think someone mentioned that here before.

Having the basketball program's best regular season in, at least, 15 years or so seems to carry some weight with most rational people and will usually buy some time. In this case, I'm assuming, it bought 3 years and DW will take a hard look after next season to gauge the progress.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
