Pointless topic - he isn't going anywhere. USF doesn't care enough about basketball to make any kind of a firing/buyout at this point - especially with the new Dome coming our way

I saw this posting at the firestanheath site earlier. The site is pretty funny even if it is a bit one sided. I think the guy splices his videos too.

That website has a couple of quotes from me from bball game threads. WTF? Can I sue since he didn't get my permission to use those quotes?

But the stuff on there is pretty funny, nonetheless.

bj should play basketball

bruce pearl is the man

I will enjoy it when this conversation actually moves forward to the "solution" stage. I agree with the gist of TripleB and others.....Heath is here this year and next....then we can worry about it.....however...if you want to gripe.....give me a name.....a serious name.

About a week ago I said the same thing and then said.....don't tell me Bruce Pearl....and he we go....Bruce Pearl.....what about Jim Harrick....or see if Jerry Tarkanian wants to come out of retirement.

I would be interested (assuming Heath doesn't cut it) in gambling and going after another hot young assistant....names like Chris Collins at Duke, Jerod Haase at UNC or Orlando Antigua at Kentucky or Dwayne Stephens at Michigan State.....

There are just a few names to throw out.....I know they are good recruiters. I don't know enough about the BB IQ to know if they would make good Head Coaches.....but everybody.....if you want to moan about this....fine.....give me some names....a solution.

You know.....like back when we all wanted McCullen gone and we thought Huggins was available.

Bruce Pearl would be the man, hire him in a heart beat.

Could you get the guy from St. Mary's to leave?

How about the guy at Long Beach State?

Or The guy at Wichita State

Or The guy at Belmont

Or The guy at Rider

Or the Dream get. Fisher from San Diego State

Why wouldn't he?

You have no clue. He built SDSU from scratch. He might jump at the chance to do that here.

You never know unless you try.

Interesting to say the least. Jason King is a good writer and him saying Stan is in big trouble gets a slight raise of the eyebrow. However if and when Andy Katz either says it of writes it then I'll take it much, much more serious. Katz is a friend or at least he was a huge Heath supporter, and he really laid it heavy on Arkansas when Heath was fired there. Heck just the rumor of Stan's departure set off Katz if I remember correctly from reading his articles and listening to him on TV and radio. I don't know if Jason King is going by the obvious that Heath is in trouble or he talked to Katz about it before he answered the question in the article.

Come on Andy make my day! Just say it!

How about Steve Roccaforte as the next coach if we are going the assistant route. He'll come cheap and he certainly can recruit as he has already proven since being hired here at USF. I think he can possibly do a fine job, and I know his system that he learned at Memphis would benefit the players in the program much. much better then that crap Heath calls an offense. By just changing the offensive scheme a long he'll win more games then Stan.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
