There shouldn't be a rush to expand now that the league is at 9 teams. There isn't a program out there (and this includes 'Nova) that strengthens the league from a football standpoint now that TCU is in the fold. It's all about the Big East Network now. If 'Nova says no, then Temple may be in line to take its place.

The 1st time UCF won the CUSA title was the same year they got beat like a drum in RayJay.....64-12UCF WOULD NOT beat us this year. We would smash Godfrey and blow they're defensive line off the ball.

Rumor has it.... :lmao :laughingnew :lolnew :lol2new

What benefits do we have between 9 teams vs 10 teams? we don't get a conf champ game out of it. maybe scheduling would be a little easier with 10 but thats about it. Add quality not quantity.I think anyone that isn't from USF will pick UCF as that next team. As much as I hate to admit it, they would beat us this year. We have no talent on our offense. They did something USF has never did (in CUSA or Big East) and that is win a conference title. They are playing for another this year. They are doing it with a coach that is not is good as ours. I did see another thread on the board about someone asking about Boise St to the Big East. That would be a awesome but I doubt it would happen since they already agreed to go to the Mountain West. So don't be surprise if UCF get's the nod if Villanova declines. They have the facilities, decent program, and the TV market. Respectfully, but strongly disagree with your admission. We beat a very talented Miami team in Miami (granted they are not playing up to their talent), but if we beat a talented Miami team we can and would beat UCF this year. Certainly UCF does not have the talent that UM or even USF currently has on their team. We have played up and down this year and in some cases up to our talent level and in other cases below our talent level. However, I think we gelled as a team later in the season and think that if we played UCF this year we would keep the streak going at 5-0.Go Bulls! Guest nybullsfan
So the faculty voted against? If there had been a similar vote at USF in 1995 I would have expected a similar result.Students want it, faculty don't.It's up to the board now.I predict Nova will stay where they are, and BE will invite UCF for 2012. Then we will get UH and Memphis for 2013.

The league really only needed to get to 9 teams in the first place and no option outside of TCU is there that would better the league for football. I hope some are right that the Big East would sit tight at 9 for a little while. I think if you still believe the super-conferences are possible.....you wait for the new BE TV deal to come out and then go after some variation of Mizzou, Kansas and KSU. The Big 12-2 is ripe for picking for basically any conference because of the demands of Texas. If you could get those dominoes to fall.....then you may see the demise of the Big 12 altogether. ISU and Baylor might be left out in the cold....but I have a feeling those schools don't like how Texas dictates and basically controls their future. A board of faculty members will have no real say in what happens to villanova athletics if a move to the big east means increase in $$$ to the school
