We are 5-1 and people want to fire our coach?  After a game where the players clearly let us down?  As talented as BJ is this was only his 3rd start and he certainly missed many open receivers (on passes and other cases even seeing them) and opportunities to create positive yardage if he would have just tucked it upfield instead of running east and west..  The WR's also dropped passes on key plays and the D failed to squeeze a couple of big INTs.  The players were put in a position to make plays and they didn't take advantage of the opportunities.  The penalties were certainly ugly but despite them we still had a chance to win the game.

This clown RichmondBull likes stirrring up negativity on this board. He's started countless threads on how much we suck, blah, blah blah.

Some of his points are valid, but he's trying to get everyone all fired up again. Lets not react to this guys threads any longer. They are all garbage.

He makes smazza look like the eternal optimist. This board if only big enough for one chicken little...and I actually get a chuckle out of some of smazza's posts.

A bit too early to call for the coach's head imo.  As others have pointed out, this is the first year we've had a really good (on paper) recruiting class top to bottom.  At least give him a chance to coach these guys that his staff has been pounding the pavement to get.  We are 5-1 having just lost to one of the best teams with one of the best coaches in the country with us playing a rs freshman qb with a young, inexperienced offensive line in front of him.  Let's put some things in perspective here folks.  Count to 10, breath deeply, etc.

Undisciplined (any accountability for these players?)

Terrible Play Calling (running the same plays that are NOT WORKING)

Mike Ford still on the bench (He should just transfer to a school that will use his talent)

Stupid mistakes (dropped passes, dropped interceptions, BJ trying to run around like crazy every play instead of staying in the pocket and throwing)

When is this university going to realize that Leavitt cannot take this team to the next level?

Leavitt is like Tony Dungy from the Bucs, they need a Gruden to take them to the next level.

All of you on here will defend this man to the death because he has been here from the start but are you truly satisfied in playing in crappy bowl games every year?  How many years will this go on until they get someone else? 

Same story every year.  Start off great then tank it.  A Leavitt team will NEVER win the big east.  USF will be in the pizza or st. pete bowl this year.

Bring this post back up @ the end of the year. if we win out the rest of the year: would you still call for CJL firing?

Before the game I thought if USF loses the UC game we would be out of making our goal of BE title. But UC is not as invincible as I thought they were. I could see them losing some games down the road.

Lets see how the season plays out before we call on a firing.

I agree we should fire him. After all didd you see JL drop that perfect bomb from BJ or what about when JL dropped the 4th and 3 pass or when he threw the interception because he totally misread the coverage. No wait, did you see JL get out run as he was trying to chase down some slow 4th string wanna be QB??? Yep - I so see why he should go!

We got beat by a better team.  Our expectations were up even though we basically have beaten teams that are bad.  We didn't have a true test of our team until last night.  And we now can see our weaknesses and work on them.
