Myself and some people in my section made fun of their "waving wheat" or whatever the crap it is after we went up 27-20.The classless KU fans that were constantly doing the Gator Chomp did not help matters. As always, fan behaviors are to blame on both sides, and you only hear about the worst-case stuff.I think the KU fans got the best treatment possible, especially seeing how we treated the WVU fans. It's a beak, not the gator chomp. Their fingers came to a point, their hand's weren't flat/palm to palm.Well, I wasn't aware of that, nor were the 7-8 people around me that saw them doing it.Look at it this way - if USF had a hand signal that looked exactly like something that Kansas State fans did, came into your stadium and did it, you wouldn't know the difference. You'd just think that they were trying to p1ss you off.No biggie or anything. That was the only thing that I saw.

In and out of town. Very disappointing. We're getting a reputation, and I don't like it
Feld44 Posted September 15, 2008 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 651 Reputation: 3 Days Won: 0 Joined: 01/14/2005 Share Posted September 15, 2008 I told every KU fan I saw "Good luck", "Welcome to Tampa", the usual pre game comments and then good game and have a safe trip home after the game. We had 2 KU fans sitting in 123 and at the beginning of the game, 2 younger guys were flicking them off, which was upsetting to me. Then a guy sitting in our section 123 stood up and began flicking off the KU section, which I doubt anyone in their section saw, but I was trying to tell the guy that its not necessary but didn't look like it fazed him much. It just makes you look extremely ignorant.

I had a KU fan in the row right in front of me he pretty much kept to himself and celebrated KU's big plays and then even gave us props when we made some good ones. He left during the come back though because he did the same at a USF friends house when they were watching the Rutgers game last year and we all know how that one turned out for us. Good thing i my undefeated hat and shirt combo to counteract that ;D

Just a few ideas to put some of this crap to rest.We need to be sure that we keep these people in the minority. This kind of talk about our fans (students esp.) is embarrassing. Simply put...when we are rising in the rankings shouldn't we want the fans of other schools to be rooting for us instead of hating us for having a jack*** fan base???So much for RespectABull....next effort? That said....how 'bout a great big welcome for the Pitt Panthers in a few weeks? Now that's going to be tough to smile and greet those a*holes....but no need to throw anything at them!!! Go Bulls!

Of course, I then gave each one the finger. ;D
RicanBull Posted September 15, 2008 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 760 Reputation: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 02/07/2008 Share Posted September 15, 2008 From the University of Kansas student newspaper...*Talked to a couple of KU fans on the flight back tonight and I was surprised to find out that they were treated very poorly by the USF fans. They had stuff thrown at them, were called names so bad that I can't say them on here, and even said it was worse than the Missouri game. I am working on a story for Tuesday's paper that talks about just how bad the fans were at the game. I find it funny, however, that the South Florida Athletics Department has a campaign going called being 'respectaBULL" - playing off their nickname, the Bulls. Its obvious though that they already knew that their fans lack of respect was becoming an issue.http://www.kansan.com/blogs/hot_route/2008/sep/15/home_sweet_home/I emailed the guy and told him to check out the message board to see how everyone feels about this issue. Hopefully he will add some good things in his story for tuesday.
