I don't know, couldn't we hold off on the recreation fields, office buildings, for now and put that money into a better stadium? Just a thought. 1

Just a thought. You cannot hold off on the rec fields. I remember back when the plans for Corbett Stadium were being finalized that someone from campus rec mentioned that whatever land/area they might have to give up, the University would have to find a new space for them and allocate the same area that they gave up. Just a thought. Maybe @John Lewis can confirm but... I believe the $340m is the pricetag for *everything*, including the football ops center, stadium, demolition of current structures, etc. Even if this $6m is additional, I am pretty confident that the $340m does at least include the football ops center. So right off the bat the stadium itself is actually only ($340m - cost of the football ops center which is at least $25m given the TGH naming gift). Amen and I will add, we will never be late the the party of being the best university we can and should be. Playing off campus and not having the community and revenue generating opportunities of a stadium is not going to cut it going forward. That's true whether we are in FCS or the Big Ten or somewhere in between.

Outlaw Posted March 20 Group: TBP Subscriber Topic Count: 74 Content Count: 12,618 Reputation: 3,310 Days Won: 25 Joined: 10/16/2017 Share Posted March 20 We are playing catch up but the cost is mostly driven by the transitory inflation that is permanent. A 340,000,000 stadium today may have been a 180,000,0000 stadium 4 to 10 years ago. Ray Jay definitely will be nicer overall but the campus on stadium will be huge on getting students and alumni to campus and in the stands. It will be like seeing the differences in amenities between Amalie arena and the Yuengling center. Yuenling center is not as nice. But it’s ours. It feels like it’s ours. And at the end of the day it will feel just as nice with winning.

That is why I have never been huge fan of fancy suites. We are not an NFL/big business team. We need a sound quality stadium, with potential for expansion later. We just need bleacher seating for most areas, enough suites to help make it profitable and a quality foundation to build upon. At the end of the day, USF football will finally have a home of its own!!
