seems to me that the stadium isn't the only thing they have invested in.

we have a new indoor practice facility. I believe a new football center is in the works. They have hired new coaches in both major men's sports. I'm sure there are other upgrades planned as well.

you constantly complain about how we have been left behind and now that they are trying to do something about it you complain about that too. perhaps you should just go be a fan of ucf.

I like that we fired failure and made hires that seem to be having early success, that is a step in the right direction. There are a lot of things that can be done to improve things in the conference failure department, this stadium is not one of them. How does not wanting to pretend that building a ****** stadium somehow lead to UCF being successful and us not building one somehow leading to the failures that followed translate to needing to join UCF? This is their revisionist history that only exists because we made fun of their POS that they felt forced to build. We weren't forced use the money more judiciously on impactful things that are not at ridiculous highs for all parts of the process. It is dumb and people need to be fired.

facility upgrades were something they could control unlike coaching hires which are more of a crapshoot. they certainly don't hurt as far as making us more attractive to a conference.

Explain to me how anyone would possibly mistake the stadium as an upgrade? It is in every conceivable way a downgrade and if conferences are using stadiums as a criteria this is not breaking us towards the positive.

And outside of the absurd UCF spin that is helpful to a conference how exactly?

Not trying to shut down discussion here at all. But there will always be stadium detractors. @puc86 is the loyal opposition on that issue, but he's also very much in the minority, as evidenced by the actions of our administration and Board of Trustees (people who matter), as well as most of our fans.

Funny, because I'm a lawyer who's been to literally dozens of board meetings in my career. I think I've been to enough. 😉

I think it promises the same Powerful Placebo Effect that wearing my lucky underwear to games has helped us win so many championships over the years!

Tradition and history. Thats the tangible aspect that can not be built into the first on campus stadium for a football program that is less then 30 years old. This is going to take time, it will come with wins and losses. Could have , should have, would have, is always a fun discussion that leads to nothing, as we will never know what could have happened. What the nation is seeing is a University that is making an investment in football, just like every other university with a power program once did themselves. This stadium is being built on the grounds where a trailer stood that held the coaches office...USF will be playing catchup for some time, thats what happens when you have a 27 year old program. Every program and stadium had to start somewhere. Take a look at what ben hill griffin stadium, doak campbell stadium first looked like when they opened. When you look go to those stadiums now, you can feel the history and its about darn time USF starts making their own history.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
