Through 16 games - our team free throw percentage AND we’re attempting 17 a game. Both of those numbers are the highest we’ve seen in forever. It’s making a MASSIVE difference and our one outlier was the reason for our only league loss so far.

Pryor an amazing 35-38 the past three games.

FTs have been this program's problem for years. If they ever had a team that shot a good free throw percentage, we'd be a much more successful program. This is a step in the right direction.

And this is one of the reasons why I mentioned that we would be better this year. I mentioned that we were recruiting guys who can shoot. I mentioned how many close losses we had last year and how poorly we shot from the FT line. And that alone was going to make a difference.

I believe that turnovers are down as well. Otherwise, statistically, this team is identical to last season's. It's amazing what a thin line there is between winning and losing.

Side Note on free throws... I've been counting Pryor's free throw times lately, and I watched the referees' counts closely on all his FT attempts today. Even though it seems like he's close to a 10 second violation, he's pretty consistently around 7 seconds, so he actually has 2 seconds to spare. Whatever works for him I hope he keeps doing it!

Probably doesn't hurt to have lost ucf, houston, and cincinnati from the conference to along with the improved shooting

We'd probably smoke UCF again if they were still here. We swept them last year as bad as they were.

It seems unreal and so un USF-like.  I almost cry every time he makes one.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
