UCF is definitely the closest p5 FL in terms of talent and coaching that we would have a shot to beat. It still would be an uphill battle, but if we came out swinging we have a chance. Until we win at least one of the next two games all these hypothetical bowl matches are nothing burgers. Win the games on your schedule and worry about who we get in a bowl after we take care of business.

Was that a papa roach reference? 😂

We need a bowl game at the strength of our schedule. We’d be better off with a winnable game than some P5 opponent.

I’m curious why do people want the Gasparilla bowl? I get it, any bowl would be amazing but do you not want the experience of traveling and all of the events that go with it outside of your home stadium?

We don't want that matchup. We are no where near their level right now.

If we play to the full extend of our abilities we can beat most teams.

Imagine if we got to play ucf at home

I’d rather not.

If we get bowl eligible, I’d want one that the players would get a lot better experience than here, or in state really. The kids who stuck it out through the nightmare of the last 3 years deserve.

I thought the same last year and look how that turned out. Our players like to get up and show out for these types of games.

IIRC that was just another loss.
Down vote for everybody that wants to play ucf.

How bout we get six wins first.

This may or may not happen given the makeup of the last two teams.

Ok, which P5 school are we most near? A bowl game is a bowl game, and I would bet these kids would be:

1) beyond excited for any bowl matchup

2) itching to beat their rivals in a bowl game

Any P5 but them unless we want to continue to add to their win streak. They have been playing a tough P5 schedule all year. We've been barely beating losing AAC teams.

At the end of the day... we need to distance ourselves from them right now. Maybe circle back later.
