The American is below.  I do remember that most of those ESPN owned lower bowl don't necessarily have locked in conferences, but it should help:

Looks like both UF & UCiF will have a hard time getting bowl eligible this season. UF probably loses to Mizzou & FSU to finish at 5-7. While UCiF will probably lose at Texas Tech and blow it at home against Houston finishing 5-7. Maybe they will take some 5-7 teams. We shall see..

How does a 5-7 team make a bowl?

If a bowl needs a fill-in participant, the top 5-7 team based on Academic Progress Rate (APR) fills that spot. 

 

I have no idea if UCF would be near the top based on APR if they end up 5-7.

Well.  That's one way to fill the stadium.  UF would work, too...oh wait, forgot, most UF "fans" are incognito this year because their team isn't winning.
