Officiating Last Night

Old fart that I am, even though I understand football is an emotional game, I'd prefer players just go celebrate briefly with their own teammates and line up for the next play. It just isn't worth the risk of a taunting penalty. You see so many great defensive plays negated by over-the-top celebrations. It's a shame.

For real, I thought the games were supposed to go faster with the new clock rules, but now I know that it is so they can fit more commercial breaks in for their sponsors. So ******* lame. It was really hard to get in the game when every play had a penalty, then penalty review, then the next play, “player down media timeout”.

It was nice seeing the win, but man that game flow was a drag.

It really is...sure the Defense appreciate the delays.

USF is more to blame for the penalties than the refs. We have to shore up our discipline before conference play. Through two games, we have been called for 25 penalties accounting for 214 yards (11-100 and 14-114). That is unacceptable and WILL lose you games during the season.

I watched the replay yesterday. It’s not nearly as boring as live. Also looked like we played much better on defense.

Are we really complaining about refs vs FAMU? 

We are not a good football team yet. 

So far, I think coach Golesh might be the guy to get us to good.
