Royals? We are where the peasants hangout at the bottom of a dark pit.

It's not a dark pit, it's a field of muck ....

So we are just digging in mud looking for wins seems fitting.

It's funny, I think the first time I stepped on the USF campus was to watch that movie in a building next to, or just a little more west of, the MSC ..... and I have no ******* clue as to how that came about. I do know it has been a driving force in my being since.

I saw it on the USF campus as a freshman in what used to be called the literature or arts and letters building.  I think it was later named Cooper building or something.   Probably had 250 people in the auditorium in that building.  Some great laughs.

Looking at a campus map, pretty sure it was what's now called the Fine Arts-Dance building ...

In the late 70's, the movies were held in LET 103 (new Arts and Letters building back then) which was a sloping auditorium where the seats did not accomodate the slope so you were always leaning forward and things rolled off of the desks during classes.  Large freshemen english classes were held there.  Saw many movies there including Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Rock-n-Roll High School and all the first John Waters films.  Good times!

Loved DB as a Nole and Buc but not sure I'd be that comfortable with him going from zero experience in college athletics administration (I think) straight to AD ......

Knowing what you don’t know and making the biggest hires where those deficiencies exist is as important as actually knowing things, administrative knowledge is typically not a very expensive skill to supplement. Brands are an expensive part of any value and cogs not so much, in Tampa DB himself is a brand that would open doors. No one wants to open a door the door for a VPMK if not doing so for USF, the same cannot be said about DB and that’s where his value lies.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
