Well, Golesh had very high praise for him so I guess let's see how it plays out...he was responsible for recruiting Ed Oliver but his defense at FAU wasn't stellar.

Todd Orlando (born March 24, 1971) is an American football coach. He is the defensive coordinator at Florida Atlantic University. He served as the defensive coordinator at the University of Texas at Austin from 2017 to 2019 and the University of Southern California (USC) from 2020 to 2021. Prior to Texas, he was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at the University of Houston. Prior to coaching at Houston, he was the defensive coordinator at Utah State University.[1]

We're gonna be the 4th different program he's been DC at over the past 5 seasons (I'm including next season)

I just checked out Texas's defense under his tutelage. Not terrible, but there was regression each year.

2017: 366.6 yds/g, 21.2 ppg (30th)

2018: 393.6, 25.9 ppg (57th)

2019: 431.5, 27.5 (65th)

Did he come highly recommended by Glenn Spencer? I mean, I was only kidding when I said I couldn't wait to see what FAU rejects we'd end up with on staff, this is ridiculous. I was ready to back off of my Jeff Scott 2.0 comments, but if this is his first hire and he's going to sell it as "the best DC in the country," I'm kind of skeptical.

USC Stats (again, regression year-over-year)

2020: 369.7, 26 ppg (47th)

2021: 410.1, 31.8 (103rd) 

FAU:

2021 (prior to his arrival): 409.3, 25.8 (58th)

2022: 424.8, 26.6 (66th)
