UT fan here. No he isn't the main play caller. They did share the duties. He's a great recruiter. He's great at finding mismatches in the defense. Overall your getting a good coach. UT fans are gonna miss him. I think it's a solid hire.

I "like him" too.  And it might invite a wave of rage, but Cindy nailed it. 

We all like him, or need to or want to.  He is very green.  It's expected.  We hired someone whose "20 years aren't really 20 years" and includes a year as a student assistant.  I don't think he ever HCed in high school or any level either.  And I know ... we could find other coordinators that haven't either.

He's very new at this HC thing.  Maybe less prepared than Jeff Scott was.  He may be smarter tactically and be a truly better play caller though.

Patience is hard to come by, and we all want to, need to, would like to win NOW.  I encourage some patience.  He's got a lot of off-season time to get familiar and comfortable and become a head coach.

This is exactly why I said a week ago that I wish we had a guy in Kelly's admin that kept the factory running while Scott was gone so that if we hired a newb, he had some infrastructure and on-site support.

I would encourage excitement, optimism, hope and welcome Golesh with open arms, support, cheers, etc. but also remain cognizant of the road ahead.

He has the fire and the hard working ethic that should make him want to prove people wrong.  The "I avoided social media for a couple days" comment signaled this to me.  Nothing like a good old fashioned chip on the shoulder.

He defintiely has the fire.  He's definitely thankful for the job.  I think he's a little surprised he's in the job and hence can understand why some others might be surprised too.  He wants to prove he belongs, not assume he does. (Only my observation from speech/body language)

I mentioned the work ethic earlier.  If he combines the work ethic with hating to lose, he'll find a way to be successful.

It's fun to do this in career...  Recognize the doubters, don't talk, but just outflank them and win.

He is a little more portly and shorter than CJS, so you have to make do with what you have.
