 Will it show us what it could have been or will it show us what we have to look for to in the future? Or does it not matter how this team ends this season.

It could show how quick the rebuild may or may not be. Finish 2-1 and a lot of people will be convinced Jeff Scott was holding this team back and a new coach could turn it around year 1.

Get blown out 3 times on the other hand...

It matters. If they fall flat on the field and if we don't show up in the stands it's a tough sell to bring in a new coach. I thought we had a good homecoming game crowd. They need to come back and show our next coach we are not done yet.

This team won't win another game this season so I guess it's a look ahead to what we'll look like next season.  Even if we get a homerun hire and have a great recruiting class, we'll still maybe win 3 games next year.

A sign of a bad coach is inconsistency. This team has shown they can keep up with Florida/Cincinnati. If we can get a coach that can get them to play with that intensity 12 weeks a year we're going bowling next year.

yeah we have enough talent. plus with the portal it's much easier to turn things around.
