There is honestly way more negativity after yesterday’s W than I could have imagined. I have 24 years of coaching experience and I can tell you from first hand knowledge it is extremely difficult as a coach to build a winning culture regardless of the talent of the players. Winning begets winning and losing begets losing. It becomes part of a programs identity. Teams with low talent can win because of their own expectations to win and resulting grit and talented teams can lose for the same reason. Everyone on our field, with few exceptions, has experienced some sort of defeat. Either at USF or failing to succeed at their prior program. Maybe they lost a starting position and that also results in a loss of confidence. I truly believe we have talent but we also have a losing culture. What we need is a break through. CJS can preach we are winners to the players all day long but until the team produces and breaks through with a big W the culture won’t change. Give it a break negative nellies. If you haven’t been a part of what is going on don’t talk as if you do. Yes, we all want to win, and I believe we will. Keep cheering and hoping and supporting and we will turn the corner. That turn could be fast and furious or it could be a slow grind. Trust the process. Instant gratification isn’t always the best policy. But the conclusion is that given enough time, losing will beget winning just as soon as the person that has only ever lost teaches everyone else how to win? Maybe another one "Drinking and Thinking". Or, "How not to take a loss personal, and then personally attack people you disagree with" . I get the pain in losing. I understand the grief over the program, but the reactions are sometimes more embarrassing than a 22 point win over anybody. 1 1

I don’t believe CJS can teach them to win. He can put them in the best position to win (I do agree he has not always succeeded in this). Winning needs to come internally. The team has to figure it out. Someone who plays on the field has to lead them most likely. Coaches can only do so much. That’s the point.

We’ll find out soon enough. We need to win and win this year or CJS is gone, in my opinion. I believe we need to win a game soon that we aren’t expected to win or this season will get away from us. Someone has to step up. I’ll anxiously await the results

I saw a tweet from Tyre McCants...that Said the Syracuse moment was mostly the team tired of losing. So maybe your correct the coaches can only do so much in the end the players are the ones that have to execute on the field in the end. Hopefully they want more of sat night.

Those two games will decide our season
