I would agree with you on going with the younger guys, but let's not forget that Fortin's two starts were against NC State & Florida. Might be a little unfair to completely write him off, being that he started against two of the most difficult opponents we've had this year. If Fortin ends up getting meaningful playing time this year, I wouldn't be that worried about it, especially with the running game working.

The potential problem I see with Fortin is his relative lack of mobility compared to Timmy. The mere threat that Timmy could tuck it and run made defenses have to account for him on every play. You freeze a LB for just a second and it gives the RB the advantage on a carry. If that element is gone, it will be much tougher to run the ball. The same may be true for Marsh, as he has not shown himself to be much of a dual-threat to date. Maybe that will change. I do like keeping ECU in the dark so that they have to prepare multiple defensive game plans on a short week.

Timmy needs to read faster . . . especially the way they blitz.

I can’t even recall Marsh running…does he even have speed?

In 3 games, 1 Rush for -4 Yards.

He's has 11 Pass Attempts.

6-5 226lbs

-13 Yards in 4 Games last year ... he's a Pocket QB.

Agreed, but he's a true Freshman and that will come in time I suppose. There are A LOT of occasions where Timmy can't find an open guy, then takes off running. Can't believe our WRs are locked down THAT often. Not sure he's the best passing QB we have on the team at this point, but I still like him as the starter. The experience should pay off in time.

The line went from -6 to -9.5. Guess Vegas doesn't think Timmy is playing.

Wonder if there’s any gamesmanship with Timmy’s status. Have to think if he was cleared to re-enter last week he’ll be good to go this week.

and game planning for Timmy is a lot different than Marsh
