Seems we had a lot of young guys on D in the second half . . . need some experience and made sense with those big runs against us.

I just think you are confusing observation and evaluation with indecision at this point of the season.  Agree that it would be great to say this is our guy and have him be our guy.

Honestly and with all due respect, I am not confused at all.   There is not excuse for a coach to have had the amount of time he and his staff have had to observe and evaluate these players and not know what he has and what they can do.   Doesn't mean things would never change and that he doesn't, but honestly the idea that we need 4 regular season games to decide who our #1, #2, and #3 qb's are .... is ridiculous.  If that is what he is saying

He had all last year to see that the DL was trash and the only portal guy he signed was a DE from New Mexico that never made it on campus.  The interior of the DL is awful yet they all came back with no help from the portal.  Inexcusable!

We'll have to agree to disagree on this.  Especially when one of your choices, and maybe the most talented, is a 17/18 year old that has only been with the team less than a year.

That is probably my biggest issue with CJS. He neglected the defensive line hard. He added close 40 players to the team since he got here. Only pulled off 1 DL transfer and i think 2 freshman recruits.

Yeah, that is disappointing…especially relative to snagging a few Clemson guys. I would typically not care too much about this with focus on acquiring freshman. But that has only gone marginally well at the same time.

If he isn't ready, he isn't ready.  Then, he isn't your starter yet.   And going with him because you think he is ready and him flopping isn't a sin either.  The sin is that we have played 3 qbs in 3 games because we claim to still be evaluating.  That's the issue and it was last year as well.   And it is a sign of indecisive

And those 2 freshman recruits were greyshirted and he lost another DT recruit to Vtech.  Nothing was done to address this glaring position of weakness.

So you don’t think that if that cabinet was left bare it’s perfectly reasonable to go two years with out filling them because that’s they way they were when you got there? Weird

Or it is a sign that no one has separated themselves. Like I said we'll have to disagree on this issue.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
