GAME DAY vs. N.C. State


USF opens its 25th season of football, playing a road game in a season-opener for just the second time in the last 10 seasons. Jeff Scott (40) is the youngest coach in The American and will begin his second season after a COVID impacted first year that saw USF go 1-8 after getting one spring
practice and limited fall contact due to social distancing.

SEASON OPENERS: USF has won six of its last seven season openers, falling to No. 19 Wisconsin in Tampa in 2019, and won last year’s, 27-6, over The Citadel. The Bulls are 18-6 all-time in season openers (16-2 at home) and are 2-4 in road season openers, winning its last two – 42-22 at San Jose State in 2017 and 23-20 at No. 16 Notre Dame in 2011. USF’s road opener losses have come at Penn State (2005), Alabama (2003), Northern Illinois (2001) and San Diego State (1999).
THURSDAYS: USF is 6-13 in games played on Thursdays, the last coming on Nov. 7, 2019 at Temple, a 17-7 loss.  The Bulls have lost two straight Thursday games and the last win came with a 27-20 victory at Tulsa on Nov. 16, 2017.
TRANSFER TALENT: Jeff Scott has welcomed numerous transfers with the Bulls, including 29 on the 2021 roster and 18 from FBS programs. 18 transfers are expected to play significant roles in the season opener, including at quarterback, running back, wide receiver, offensive line, defensive back, defensive line and kicker. Among the schools players have come to USF from are: Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Colorado, Kansas State, Miami, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Oregon, Rutgers, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

Nope. Seems like a game time decision, as the paper copies will be available to the media in the booth at the stadium.

I have to miss the first half of game due to work, so if anyone feels the need to record the game and post to Youtube for later viewing, it would be greatly appreciated.
