Not sure.

But if it is the case that people likely situated did not face that same increased impact from Covid then it wouldn’t be the reason we are failing, correct? Everywhere you look in life there is a never ending host of reasons you can fail if you want to but if you look hard enough you can find a way to be successful. Maybe CJS is just the most unlucky person in the entire world and everything is conspiring to hold him back (in which case we should cut ties immediately because there is nothing he can do about his fortune being written in the stars) or the more likely case is there are things he is doing that are directly contributing to his complete and utter failure and he should probably work on fixing the things that are in his control and can be done to show even a glimmer of the improvement he was hired to usher in.

I was mearly pointing out that USF (and all first year coaches with programs in a rebuild) are impacted more than teams with established systems and coaching staffs.

Maybe he knows he is in year 1 of a rebuild and it may not look pretty for little while, but if he stays his course we will be better for it in the end.  Maybe he knows that we can take some lumps now, but in the long run we will be better for it.  Maybe he knows that the short cuts that message board hacks want him to take might make things look a little better now, but they are just fools gold and will hurt us in the long run.   Maybe he knows CJL isn't coming back so he's going to have to make it work.   Maybe that is why he was named to the job and not said message board hacks.   In the end, maybe CJS is wrong, but we won't know it this year and probably not next.

Maybe... but it would beg the question of what exactly he is drawing upon to make him believe his path of continuing to look worse eventually miracles it’s way to the right course. To date every single message board hack on here has exactly the same amount of FBS wins as the current expert and less losses. If there are no signs of a turnaround or improvement of anything even into next season we all will know a lot more about the current course than some of us will be willing to admit.

Recruiting rankings taken from Bulls 247:

          National    ACC

2013:    54            1

2014:    42            1

2015:    66            1

2016:    66            5

2017:    76             5

2018:    65            3

2019:    77             5

2020:   109           9 (90% CCS commits)

2021:     50             3 (So Far)

Recruiting is the #1 problem

Also please tell me what you have seen from Noah Johnson that makes you think he is better than Jordan McCloud? That TD drive against ECU was against backups in garbage time. I'm not in love with McCloud at QB, but I haven't seen anything that has been better on this team.

He has just as many TDs as Mccloud or close with a fraction of the playing time. He is waaay faster, and i dont think his arm is aa bad as everybody makes it out to be.

A few things 1) we are no more being impacted by Covid and a shortened offseason than any other team

I don't buy this argument though because it's an accelerant of have and have nots.

If you have a well oiled machine and systems in place, it would definitely impact the team less than a total dumpster fire situation.

That doesn't play into the we should have rehired never fired CJL narrative

They have the same amount of conference championships as CJL and less choke jobs, but that hasn't slowed you down
